Synopsis

It is winter. Elise lives alone with her ten-year-old son Léo, whose father is dead. She is involved with Paul, who she met before she was widowed, and that fact has sent their relationship topsy-turvy. The strength of her attraction makes Elise to reject Paul just as violently, and the pair of them alternate happy times with stormier waters. Despite all this, Paul and Léo are getting to know one another, and to like each other…

Marilyne Canto

Trained at the National Theater School in Strasbourg, Marilyne Canto began her career as an actress. Alongside her career as an actress, she also worked as Philippe Garrel’s assistant on Le Cœur fantôme (1996) and directed several short films, including Nouilles (1987), Fais de beaux rêves (2005), which won the César for the best short film as well as the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival, Oui, peut-être (2007) and C’est d’accord (2007). Le Sens de l’humour is her first feature film.
