Aurélie, a 30 something waitress works in a small French village hotel. She shares her time between her work, the village bird watching club, looking after the hotelier's father and her mother whom she lives with. Discreet, fragile, she is waiting for something to happen in her life. Then one day, she catches the eye of François, a friendly and charming salesman staying at the hotel.

Frédéric Pelle 

Frédéric Pelle intended to start a business career before entering The Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français in Paris. Later on, Frédéric Pelle directed several short films, including his first one Des morceaux de ma femme, which was presented at the Cannes Festival. In 2010, he directed his first feature film La Tête ailleurs. Le Chant du merle is his second feature film.
