Marion Hansel - President of the jury

Director, writer, producer

Belgian, Marion Hänsel was born in 1949 in Marseille. Writer, director, producer and actress, she performed in many theater in Brussels before becoming an film director. She set up her own company, Man’s Films in 1977. En 1985, she adapts Dust JM Coetzee’s book and wins Lion d'argent in Venise Film Festival. In 1987, she directed Les Noces barbares from Yann Queffelec’s novel, Goncourt winner. Then comes other feature films like Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea  in 1995 or The Quarry in 1998. Nuages was selected at the 2nd European Film Festival in Essonne in 2000. In 2006 she directed iin Djibouti’s desert Si le vent soulève les sables and  Noir Océan in 2010. Her last movie La Tendresse was in last Rotterdam Film Festival and release in France in october 2013.

Noémie Luciani

Journalist

Noémie Luciani was born in Corsica. After studying popular literature and history of the press at the University of Paris IV, she wrote a short thesis on Ponson du Terrail before a Master thesis on Jules Verne. She currently works as a Film critic for the newspaper Le Monde.

 


Thierry Frémont

Actor

Thierry Frémont begins to the theater (Poil de carotte) and follows Francis Huster's teachings  Florent‘s School . He makes a success of the entrance of Conservatoire in 20 years.
Marion Hansel gives him in 1987 the leading part of Noces Barbares, for which he obtains the Jean Gabin award and the César Award for Most Promising Actor with Travelling avant. He favors then the theater and the television. He comeback in the cinema with Les Démons de Jésus. After Nadia et les hippopotames, Le Fils du français and Femme fatale, he won an Emmy Award for his performance for Dans la tête du tueur and plays in Les Brigades du tigre. In 2006 he  plays in La Bombe humaine then continuous the TV (Chez Maupassant). In the cinema he plays in Sans états d‘âme, Une affaire d‘Etat, La Rafle and in 2013 in Quai d'Orsay.

Alain Martin

Writer

Alain Martin, 55 years old, lives and works in Paris. Passionate by Polish Cinema and culture, he is a journalist and a writer and has published three books on Krzysztof Kieslowski and is currently working on a collection of interviews with Krzysztof Zanussi. He has hold several meetings and debates around these filmmakers. He has been interested for a long time in the powers of images and in a cinema without borders.

Stéphane Riethauser

Director

Stéphane Riethauser was born in 1972 in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a law degree from the University of Geneva. Journalist and director at Swiss Radio Television RTS (2003-2008). Since 2009, he has lived and worked as an independent filmmaker in Berlin. His first fiction short film Prora (2012) was selected at more than 100 festivals and has won 15 awards.
